An arts organization called Project Bookmark Canada has chosen The
Queen of Unforgetting for a plaque installation—PBC picks books and poetry set
in Canadian locations for 'bookmarking'. They will 'unveil' a plaque in Little
Lake Park in Midland, Ontario (the setting of part of the book) on Tues. Oct. 4,
11:00am. The plaque will have an excerpt from the book as well as a bit of
author information. Other authors with plaques (since inception, 2009) are
Michael Ondaatje (Bloor St. viaduct), Anne Michaels (Toronto Annex) and
Elizabeth Hay.
Sylvia attended the Bloody Words Mystery Conference in Toronto at
the Hilton Toronto, 145 Richmond Street West during the weekend of May
28-29, 2010 She moderated a panel on historical mystery.
The official launch of The Queen of Unforgetting was held at BenMcNally's
Books, 366 Bay Street (below Richmond) on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Despite
the rain, the launch was a success, enjoyed by all.
Word on the Street, held on September 26, 2010, had excellent weather in its
favour, attracting thousands of book lovers to its many booths. Sylvia could be
spotted in the Cormorant Books booth (first two pictures, below) and later on at
the Crime Writers of Canada locale.
